Bryan Teixeira

I am attracted to nature and landscapes. Now that I have recently settled in Penticton, I look forward to painting Okanagan colours and light.

I am largely self-taught and work with oils on cotton or linen. I started painting as a teenager and continued into my twenties. I only returned to painting about 10 years ago. Recently, I have started experimenting with underpainting in acrylics and overpainting in oils – we’ll see how that goes.

A lot of my life has been about social justice struggle and activism. I hope my paintings help to heighten the viewer’s awareness of the beauty that surrounds us.
