Several years ago, I began a series of paintings I called “Glass Landscapes.” These are large wine glasses with distorted landscapes reflected within. To me, the wine glass symbolizes the “fragility” of the landscape that it reflects. Everyone knows that glass must be handled with care as it is easy to break. I would like us all to think of our environment in the same way.

I continue to work on the Glass Landscape series but sometimes for a change-up I will create a variation on the wine glass theme — instead of landscapes in the reflections, the viewer may find flowers or people. No matter the subject, I continue to indulge my love for painting reflections. I see the reflections in the wine glasses as “Abstractions encased in Realism.”
