Ingeborg Koot is a watercolour artist and potter, based in Naramata, B.C. (Originally from the Netherlands.)
It is important to have handmade items in our lives, to hold, to use, to look at and inspire us. The artwork will reflect the personality of the artist in one way or the other. Each item holds a memory and becomes part of us.
As a watercolour artist we learn to look for composition, light source, tonal values and colour. These have to be strong and present. Drawing does not come easy to Ingeborg and requires all her concentration.
Pottery is an artisan skillset, very different from painting. She was fortunate to have had the very best teachers who taught her to look for form and originality. Works in Slipware and recently started to explore Porcelain ware. She develops her own glazes.
