Karolina Born

FCA Supporting

Karolina Born was born in 1964 in Switzerland and moved to Canada in 1995.

She studied languages in Basel, Switzerland, English in Cambridge, England, and French and art history at the Université de la Sorbonne in Paris, France. She holds a degree as a translator of foreign modern languages from the Translator School Dolba in Basel, Switzerland.

Karolina doesn't have any formal painting training, yet has been painting all her life mostly in acrylics, but also in oils. She has been part of exhibitions, both in Canada and in Switzerland.

Karolina finds her inspiration in all things nature. Predominantly, she paints landscapes. Her vibrant colour palette speaks for itself. "Painting makes me happy!" is what she has to say about her work.

Some of Karolina's earlier work has been published by Touchwood Editions in 2014, in the book "Okanagan Slow Road", illustrating the Okanagan's most spectacular places through the eyes of author Bernadette McDonald. The book has been updated and reprinted to a second edition in 2017.

Many of Karolina's original paintings have found new homes all over Canada and the US.

For new work or commissions, please contact her or visit her by appointment in her home studio in Naramata. Contact here at www.karolinaborn.com.
