My love of art was triggered when I was working on Indigenous Reserves in Northern Ontario in the 1970s where I was exposed to paintings done by several Woodland Artists including Daphne Odjig, Norval Morriseau, Carl Ray and Saul Williams. It was love at first sight. As soon as I had an income I began to slowly acquire works of art done by these incredible Indigenous artists. This mutually beneficial affair lasted for almost 40 years.
As I was approaching retirement I decided that I would live in Penticton and try to learn how to paint. I started taking art classes organized by Renee Matheson and five years later my art skills are improving, I am still doing classes and still feeling the love.
